Intervenções Públicas Debate JTIs - Innovation in Action

Today at 16h00 in the European Parliament, Maria da Graça Carvalho co-chaired the 'Innovation in Action' debate with Antonio Fernando Correia de Campos, MEP & Chairman of STOA, the Science and Technology Options Assessment Unit of the European Parliament. A panel discussion and a Q&A session took take place with the participation of the five JU Executive Directors, MEPs and European Commission representatives. This took place under the scope of the five Joint Technology Initiatives event which is taking place at the European Parliament until 4th October.

The five Joint Technology Initiatives (JTIs) - IMI (innovative medicines), Clean Sky (aeronautics and air transport), ENIAC JU (nanoelectronics), FCH (fuel cells and hydrogen), and ARTEMIS (embedded computing systems) - will present their achievements to date and their vision on future challenges at a shared event and exhibition called Innovation in Action. The event will take place at the European Parliament in Brussels, in the presence of policy makers, industry, academic and research organisations.

The purpose of the event is to focus on the value proposition, model for innovative research and contribution to European quality of life of the JTIs in the context of the ongoing discussions on the Innovation Investment Package within the EU Horizon 2020 Programme, presented on 10 July 2013 by the European Commission.
